What You Need to Know...
Academics
The rapid pace of this certification course requires that all reading and chapter review questions be completed
prior to the the Friday classroom session.
We strongly suggest that you pick up your Open Water Diver Student Kit at least a week in advance of the class. Allow yourself adequate time to complete all of the chapters and understand the important concepts that will be covered.
Important Note: You will need to fill out medical statement at the time you pick up your student kit. Doing so a week or two in advance will allow for time to resolve any questions that may arise.
Gear for Pool Sessions & Open Water Dives
Properly fitting equipment is essential for your safety, enjoyment, and progress in the accelerated course. You will need to try on a wetsuit, hood, and BCD to obtain a proper fit prior to the start of class.
It is difficult to properly fit multiple students without delaying the start of the first classroom session.
If your schedule allows, we suggest dropping by a day or two before the the course starts to get fitted. At a minimum, please plan to show up at least an hour and a half prior to the start of the Friday session to be fitted with your equipment.
* Students must provide their own mask, snorkel, fins, boots, and gloves. Please ensure that you already have these items or have purchased them prior to the Friday classroom session.
