What you need to know about getting certified...
Scuba diving is an experience like no other. Choosing the proper course, based upon your comfort in the water and previous experience in the ocean is essential for successful completion.
We will always be upfront about all requirements and the actual cost for getting certified. We want you to succeed and experience an adventure we have come to enjoy so much!

Sign up and course cost...
The cost includes the SSI Open Water Diver Student Kit, all instruction, scheduled class
and pool sessions, open water dives, and certification card. It also includes
the use of wetsuit and hood, BCD, regulator, dive computer, weight belt, and tanks
for all pool sessions and ocean dives.
Standard Certification Course – $339 (as of April 1, 2008)
A $25 non refundable deposit (applied to the cost) is required to reserve
a place in a standard course. This does not include the student package.
A $95 deposit (applied to the cost) is required to reserve a place and receive a student package. ($25 non-refundable deposit and $70 for the
bookpackage).***
Accelerated Certification Course – $339 (as of April 1, 2008)
A $95 deposit (applied to the cost) is required to reserve a place in
an accelerated course*** ($25 non-refundable deposit and $70 for the
instruction package).
***Payment in full is required prior to attending the first classroom session. Additional costs may be deducted from the deposit if items in the instruction package are in unreturnable condition at the time of cancellation.
What is not covered in the cost...
You will have to provide/purchase your own mask, snorkel, fins, boots,
and gloves.
We offer great mask, snorkel and fin packages to fit any
need and budget!

Referrals...
Some of our students choose to complete their classroom and pool sessions here and obtain a Universal Referral to complete the required ocean dives while on vacation. Ask your instructor about requirements and restrictions.
Please Note: It will cost you an additional $150 to $250 at
the referral location. We can recommend a referral location or you can find one
yourself at Universal
Referral.
Swimming requirements...
You only need to demonstrate that you can swim 200 yards (not timed – any
style) and tread water for 10 minutes.
