Why SSI Training and Certification?
SSI certification is recognized internationally. Their philosophy is both simple and effective – Ability + Comfort = Fun. SSI allows its instructors to exceed standards when needed to assure that each individual receives the proper level of training and experience.

Standard 3-Week Certification Course
Class limit–10 students
The standard course meets two times a week over three weeks. The classes are held from 7 to 10 PM on a Tuesday/Thursday or Monday/Thursday schedule.

Accelerated Certification Course
Class limit – 10 students

The accelerated course meets from 7-10 PM on Friday evening, and 8AM to 4PM on Saturday
and Sunday.

Due to the tight time frame, you must pick up your bookpackage at least a week in advance. All reading and lesson exercises must be completed prior to the beginning of the first classroom session.

Open Water Session Referrals
Students may complete classroom and pool sessions here and the required ocean dives at a referral location (vacation destination). The cost for our class is the standard cost minus $20. We can recommend a referral location or you can find one yourself at Universal Referral. The referral location will charge an additional $150 to $250 for the open water
certification dives.

Course Requirements
Schedules require that all students read the textbook, complete the knowledge     reviews, and view the videos prior to each classroom/pool session.

Students must provide their own mask, snorkel, fins, boots, and gloves.

Both courses make four open water dives with their instructors in Monterey on the     weekend following their final class session.
